We don’t know when their next release is, but the full collaboration album between Ray and Lakou Muzik may tide us over for now. We’ve been missing the type of exhilaration NERO brings to the bass game, so it’s good to have them back. The lyrics translate to “Listen up! There’s no better band than Lakou Muzik!” The energy of the remix perfectly reflects this, guaranteed to hype up the listener. NERO preserves their powerful chants, strong horns, and tribal percussion on their remix, but adds an intense bass not present in the original. Lakou Muzik is a Haitian group comprised of all ages, dedicating to showing off Haitian culture through music. Here in 2015 though, the world has moved on from their maximalist brostep-pop, and their output hasnt aged well. Back in the summer of 2011, dance trio Nero enjoyed both a Number One single and album, and the world looked to be theirs for the taking. I feel a lot of the emotions I felt in the animated movie "5 Centimeters Per Second" of longing and nostalgia and confusion.Dubstep favorite NERO has been on a long break, with seemingly no end in sight. Its funny what a difference a few years can make. But with the peaceful bells and synths, and the ending, and all of the nostalgia from Zelda-esque sounds, eventually you find peace in letting go of the past instead of fighting with it every day.
"Impossible" to "see" "say" "find" and "stay" progresses from trying to work out where something went wrong, but in the end, the way you feel is simply overwhelming and difficult to explain, because you don't really know the source of your feelings either (the chaotic arpeggio is the thoughts all jumbled and strongly emotional).
Also, it feels to me like a struggle of self-doubt and regret towards personal experiences and actions, and also towards someone you care about. To me, I think your emotions for it match mostly what I feel too. But then, after seeing the show live, and feeling the emotions Porter tries to evoke, I gathered a new perspective for this song. At first, I just thought it was a crazy dope and perfect electronic song, with the most insane arpeggio of all time (it is). I have always loved this song, but for different reasons at different times.
